Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I use a different email address for registration then I previously provided to DMV?

The DMV only manages one email address per customer. We will use the email address you provide to sign up for email reminders instead of any email address you have previously provided.

What should I do if I receive a reminder to renew my registration?

The electronic reminder signature can be updated to include email, text message, and paper reminders, as well as vehicle records. It is possible that you will not receive a paper reminder if your vehicle registration expires within 75 days.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Unless the vehicle is registered for more than one person, you must be the primary signer (the name on the registration if the vehicle is registered for more than one person). If your registration cannot be renewed (for example, if it is suspended or revoked), you will not receive a reminder.

What will I receive at the end of my transaction?

Upon completing your transaction, you will receive a registration card and sticker, a PNO acknowledgment, a record, or a printed receipt.
